Leon Wielki wobec manicheizmu [Leon Wielki, Epistulae: 7, 8 i 15 CPL 1656; Turribius Asturicensis, Epistula ad Idacium CPL 564]

Artykuł składa się z wprowadzenia do polskiego tłumaczenia 7, 8 i 15 listu Leona Wielkiego (papieża w latach 440-461) oraz z uzupełnienia polskiego tłumaczenia listu Turybiusza z Astorgi do biskupów Galacji w sprawie manicheizmu i pryscylianizmu. Pierwsze polskie tłumaczenie tych źródeł ujawnia nową jak na V wiek taktykę walki Kościoła katolickiego z manicheizmem, nie tylko na argumenty teologiczne, ale odwołanie się do pomocy państwa (List 8 jest w całości kopią odpowiedniegoreskryptu cesarzy Teodozjusza i Walentyniana w sprawie manicheizmu). Listy Leona Wielkiego i Turybiusza ujawniają także braki w teologicznej orientacji biskupów łacińskich, którzy prawdopodobnie nie zauważyli niebezpieczeństwa fałszywej duchowości i życia religijnego, jakie niósł ze sobą „ascetyzm” manicheizmu.
