PRIMARY SCLEROSING CHOLANGITIS – AUTOIMMUNE HEPATITIS OVERLAP SYNDROME IN AN ADULT: A CASE REPORT
View through CrossRef
A clinical case of a 57-year-old man with a combination of Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is presented. The diagnosis was established on the basis of clinical, laboratory and instrumental data: cytolysis, cholestasis, azotemia and liver biopsy. A special feature of the case is the rarity of PSC involving small hepatic ducts and overlap syndrome in adult patients. Ursodeoxycholic acid and immunosuppressive therapy were treated; positive dynamics was noted. This case highlights the importance of early diagnosis and a multidisciplinary approach.
