Chalcones: An insight into their anticancer potential and action mechanism

View through CrossRef
Chalcones-1,3- diphenyl-2-propen-1-ones are the well-known precursors of flavonoids and isoflavonoids, showing a broad spectrum of biological activities embracing anticancer activity. Several chalcones and their heterocyclic analogs act as efficient anticancer agents via., a variety of mechanisms of action, including inhibition of tyrosine kinase activity, angiogenesis, cell proliferation, stimulation of apoptosis, and cell cycle disruption in different carcinoma cells. The present review attempts to provide distinct and thorough ideas about the anticancer behavior of chalcones, their heterocycles, and their plausible mechanism of action. The documents update the various anticarcinogenic mechanisms of chalcones' action and the need to develop novel anticancer drugs with high efficiency, selectivity, and in-vitro work efficiency.
