Professor Jan Baszkiewicz Award. Pro memoria

The founder of the Award was Professor Jan Baszkiewicz, who died in 2011. Professor Jan Baszkiewicz, an eminent lawyer, historian, and political scientist, was a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. For 38 years of his academic career, Professor was affiliated with the Institute of Political Science at the University of Warsaw. He was considered the most prominent among contemporary historians of the political system, doctrines and political thought. In line with the Professor’s views, which he expressed throughout his life, this award is intended to contribute to the perpetuation of the tradition of the University, so that achievements rising above mediocrity are noticed and preserved in memory through distinction. The award is presented in two categories: for the best book in political science and for the best doctoral thesis defended at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw.
