Cet article examine la manière dont deux œuvres contemporaines, les nouvelles « Brain Damage » et « Report » de Donald Barthelme et la série Decoys de l’artiste israélienne Michal Rovner utilisent la surexposition à des fins de dénonciation des contenus télévisuels. Chez Barthelme, cela passe par une rhétorique de l’excès et de la satire ; chez Rovner, par la mobilisation d’images surexposées et floues, dans la volonté de « défaire » et déconstruire les représentations médiatiques de la guerre.
