<b>Evaluation of Learners Attitude towards Medical Professionalism (LAMPS) among Final year students of Private and Public Medical colleges of Faisalabad</b>

Abstract Background   Medical Professionalism a social culture contract as it gives clinical judgement, and build values and ethics among medical students during transition from non-clinical years to clinical years. The objective of the study was to access the professionalism by using Learners Attitude towards Medical Professionalism (LAMPS) among final year medical students in public and private sector colleges of Faisalabad. Methods: A comparative cross-sectional study was conducted at Aziz Fatimah Medical and Dental College and Faisalabad Medical University from May to September 2025 after approval from Institutional Ethical Committee with number IEC/375-25. Study was carried out among 227 medical students containing 114 public sector MBBS final year students and 113 private sector MBBS final year students. Data was collected by using validated self-assessment tool “LAMPS” which consist of five professionalism domains. Data was analyzed using SPSS version -24. Continuous variables were expressed by Means ± standard deviation. An independent sample t-test was applied for all domains of professionalism and p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The comparison of data showed that Final year MBBS students of private and public sector medical colleges of Faisalabad have no statistically significant difference (p>0.05) of professionalism. P values of Duty, Autonomy, Honor, Altruism and Respect are 0.662,0.812,0.191,0.218,0.828 respectively.   Conclusions: The undergraduate medical students at public as well as private sector colleges have positive professional attitudes. Overall, there was no statistically significant difference between among public and private medical colleges in all the domains of professionalism. As both sector students suffering from similar situations.
