Sawamura Tanosuke as Karigane Bunshichi

ni Wirtschaftsi Toyokuniga ni ni ni ni ni ni with five actors in the role of bandits against a fabric background. Here is the Kabuki actor Sawamura Tanosuke III, Hier Hier Hier Hier Hier Hier Hier Hier (1845-1878), who played mainly women’s roles. Tanosuke became ill at a young age with wound blight. And despite the hand and foot amputation that the (foreign) doctor named Hepburn had to perform in 1867, he was back on stage. In 1872 he briefly retired and ran a tea house. (cf. Lit: Leiter, p. 560). In the back of his belt there is a bamboo flute (shakuhachi Hin様) like everyone else. The background is a cloth dyed in Ikat technique: black with a white pattern, usually with the character for wells (I Den; actually: well inscription). Karigane Bunshichi was one of the most famous bandits to lead his own gang. On the yukata flying wild geese are depicted in front of a full moon. The sign for wild goose (kari) appears in its name. In addition, the family coat of arms of the Sawamura Sōjūrō and another coat of arms formed from three stylized birds can be seen. The stylized birds also collect around the title cartouche.
