Abstract This chapter covers the assertion by Aleister Crowley of his final and absolute authority over the exegesis of Thelema, in response to criticism by his disciples Charles Stansfeld Jones and Norman Mudd. Wilfred Talbot Smith begins regular correspondence with Crowley; he marries and divorces Katherine Talbot. Crowley’s personal disciple Jane Wolfe enters Smith’s life as a significant partner in the establishment of Thelema and the practice of sexual magic.
