The photo is part of the Research Report No. 196 “The influence of the hydropower and navigation arrangement of the Olt river, Slatina - Danube sector, on the economic and spiritual profile of the area” (Study of the locality of Ipotești), authors Natalia Marcu, Ecaterian Dulcu, Aurelia Florea, Doina Crețu, Raluca Smarandache. The excavations took place in 1987 in the village of Ipotești, Milcov commune, Olt county and had as objectives: geographical and historical framework, evolution of the settlement and household, peasant household, architecture and organization of the interior, occupations, crafts and technical installations, folk art and spiritual manifestations. In the image of the hydrotechnical construction site of the Olt river, in the area of Ipotești, the arrangements that led to the regularization of the Olt course, the disappearance of the erosion phenomena at the base of the high bank and the landslides that took place in the past, during the periods of high river waters, which also led to the relocation of a large part of the village vineyard.
