The article is devoted to the scientific heritage of Oleg Anatol'evich Korostelev (1959–2020), whose works on the history, culture and literature of the Russian diaspora are a notable phenomenon in the Russian science. His role in the development of modern emigrantology is being considered. Particular attention is paid to the scientist’s publications dedicated to the publicist works of Dmitrii Vladimirovich Filosofov (1872–1940) — a publicist, literary critic, the first wave emigrant. It is proved that the indisputable achievement of the scientific heritage of O. Korostelev is that the name of the Russian emigrant has become an object of active study both in Russia and in Poland
