Mike Lee: Homecoming

A neutral space occupied by anonymous figures Mike Lee’s (1983~) seemingly digitally rendered works appear three dimensional, but in fact they are oil paintings created solely by the artist’s meticulous brushstrokes. Elements that are generally considered important in paintings, such as colors or details, are excluded from his works. Instead, the light and shadow fill the space that is in absence of color, and the uncanny gap in simplified subjects replace the details.
