Vandaag, 3 april 2023, vermeldt NOS nieuws dat steeds meer jongeren zonder diploma van school gaan, bijna allemaal mbo-ers. Als oorzaken worden Corona genoemd, de krapte op de arbeidsmarkt, maar ook persoonlijke problemen, verkeerde studiekeuze en onvoldoende begeleiding. Gaat het niet goed met de jongeren? Gaat het niet goed met het mbo, waar de meeste jongeren voorbereid worden op een werkend leven? Is het zo makkelijk om werk te vinden? Levert dat werk dan wat op voor de toekomst van de jongeren? Dit keer worden drie boeken besproken die elk een ander licht op deze vragen werpen. Alle drie de boeken vragen aandacht voor de begeleiding van beroepsgericht leren.
