Analysis of Tibetan Language Prints Produced During the Yuan Period (hor spar ma)

This article presents newly discovered Tibetan prints that were produced at the Yuan court in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. These finds contribute substantially to a new understanding of the history of Tibetan printing and highlight the role of the Yuan imperial family – and its female members in particular – as promoters and sponsors of printing projects.
