They used sandalwood as a perfume to improve their physical and mental well-being in their inner lives. Men were the embodiment of beauty by wearing headscarves, sandalwood, pearl necklaces, etc. Women applied sandalwood to their hair. The husband and wife enjoyed wearing sandalwood on each other. The husband's sandalwood made the wife's body fragrant. The husband enjoyed dressing the wife with sandalwood. Among the kings, the Pandya king of the South has a habit of wearing sandalwood. The bulls' tusks are covered with sandalwood. In this way, sandalwood has been present since the Sangam period. In the continuous journey of the Tamils, sandalwood has been given many cultural opportunities. Sandalwood has been present in Tamil life as an auspicious object, an object of worship, an accessory, an ornament, and a symbol of devotion.
