View through CrossRef
Abstract
Objectives, Scope
An Offshore Field developed with a digital Oil Field concept where gauges and meters are digital and connected to company HQ through digital platform, all wells equipped with Permanent downhole Gauges (PDHGs), First batch of PDHGs was activated during field commissioning under projects team at 2018, subsequent 27 wells equipped with PDHGs has no plan in place for activation, a task was initiated to accelerate PDHGs activation of under operation phase, after commissioning the value of gauges is being estimated and proved with a lot of cases related for production and reservoir management.
Methods, And Process
PDHGs are electric devices measures real time pressure and temperature data, permanently installed in oil and gas wells, connected to surface by cable for power supply and data transfer
Task ownership was assigned to Subsurface team to tackle the batch of wells drilled after field commissioning equipped with PDHGs pending gauges pending gauges activation
Actions was taken with coordination with engineering team and field production to have project in place target commissioning of PDHGs with surface facilities coupling reading with the company digital platform to be accessible for subsurface and reservoir team, a lot of optimization approaches was taken to accelerate and give priority for critical wells, vendor work management,
Monitored gauges reading for 24 hrs, share data with reservoir team to confirm data matching reservoir performance
Results, observations, and conclusions
Job execution was conducted successfully, all PDHGs are configured in the digital platform real time
Having real time monitoring ensures defined decision making, opens a new era of reservoir surveillance with fast track action taking Optimized well intervention activities, eliminated memory gauges utilization, estimate cost reduction 10.5 $MMUSDAvoided oil deferment due to wells shut in for well intervention activities 3.7 Million BBLSProducing wells to the limit above saturation pressure by accurate measuring the bottomhole flowing pressureEarly detection of water loading with wells showing water production with quick action taking and well offloadingStimulation with highest surface pressure observing Bottom hole injection pressure away from frac pressureSecuring input data for digital software utilizing artificial intelligence
It is highly recommended to utilize PDHGs in all oil and gas wells, it makes real difference Actual charts and cases will be addressed
Initiative ad added information
PDHGs provide the chance for downhole data connection with software covering reservoir analysis and field operation optimization
Wells interference can be clearly detected on spot to take the proper action
Scale accumulation, choke plugging/ malfunction situations can be proven by gauges reading
