Colour photograph with white frame. \Photograph of the archive of the Haute Couture firm Pedro Rodriguez made for advertising purposes for the autumn-winter collection 1962-63 in which there are several coats, shawls and jackets of oriental inspiration, perhaps influenced by the first tour that the firm made the Philippines in February 1962 and which is evidenced by the use of 'kanzashi', a kind of needles with which the Japanese woman holds her hair when using the kimono. \Pedro Rodríguez was born in Valencia in 1895 and died in Barcelona in 1990. He opened his Haute Couture house in 1919, which was the first to be opened in Spain, and in 1940 he founded the Haute Couture Cooperative, of which he was president until his death and from where he actively collaborated for the projection of Spanish fashion abroad, especially in the 50s and 60s.
