View through CrossRef
The modern system of teaching foreign languages in secondary schools sets the main goal of teaching the formation of communicative competence of children, which becomes the basis for the development of cognitive, personal, and regulatory skills. The communicative principle of teaching requires the development of effective methods and techniques for the development of monologue speech in a foreign language, this problem is considered in the study within the framework of modeling the educational process in the middle school of education on the basis of the creative activity of students. The formation of children's speech skills at the present stage of language education in secondary school implies the use of a wide range of pedagogical technologies. Among them, one of the successful methods for the development of monologue speech within the framework of productive creative activity of children is the project method. As a pedagogical technology of teaching, this method is widely introduced into the practice of teaching foreign languages at school. There are many types of project activities. The most difficult for students, but effective in terms of its indicators, is the method of creative projects, the main tasks of which are mastering of basic skills of monologue utterance and the construction of a text in a foreign language. We believe that the development of children's own creative projects stimulates the ability to speak a foreign language, has a positive effect on the formation of coherent speech, and allows them to develop the skills of monologue expression. To this end, in this study, we propose a methodology for working on creative projects at the intermediate level of education. The subject of the work is the development of projects together with students aimed at developing monologue speech skills in English and the subsequent defense of the product in front of peers. The topics of creative projects are close to students and are associated with the socio-cultural realities of our country and society. In the course of the study, we have shown the main types of classification of projects and scientific and methodological literature, the main stages of work on a project using interdisciplinary connections, program applications, an example of a creative project of students created for the development of monologue speech. The results of the study serve as valuable material in the practice of teaching English in the 9th grade of a secondary school.
