Experimental Analysis of Heat Pipes based Parabolic Dish Solar Water Heater Located on House Rooftop
View through CrossRef
The leading motive of Authors are to develop an efficient 1.5KW heat pipes based parabolic dish type water heater placed on house rooftop. In this effort, parabolic dish solar heat collector was design, fabricated and tested according to domestic use only. The acetone and ethanol fluid filled wickless heat pipes with filling ratio 35%, 40% & 45% are used as a heat transfer tool from focus area to cold water. The incident rays coming from sun reflected by the fragments of mirrors which are attached with the surface of parabolic dish solar rays’ concentrator. After obtaining radiated heat at focus area of parabolic dish heat accumulator temperature difference of 35˚C to 56˚C created with respect to atmosphere conditions of cold water over a long period at Patna (India) region. Long Evaporative Section Thermosyphons (LEST) are used for maximum heat transportation from focus area to cold water. Finally, this experimental analysis got max.82˚C hot water output with 90% solar collector efficiency and 46% heat pipe efficiency also found most effective value at 90˚C focus temperature in 45˚ & 60˚ H.P tilt angle with 45% F.R. and proves that heat pipes based parabolic dish solar water heater can be used in future trends of water heating process.
