A tanulmány az esztétikai szakvitában híres-hírhedt „összművészeti alkotás” kifejezést itt nem elméleti szempontból vizsgálja, hanem elsősorban gyakorlati célból használja, hogy felhívja a figyelmet a túl egyoldalúan a prédikációra összpontosító lutheránus istentiszteletre, valamint az istentiszteleti kommunikáció sokrétű elemeire, amelyekben az istentiszteleti kommunikáció megvalósul és megvalósulnia kellene.
