Biotechnological, Computational Analysis and Predictive Modeling of Phytochemicals in Moringa oleifera

View through CrossRef
Moringa oleifera, commonly known as the Moringa tree, has garnered considerable attention in recent years due to its abundant phytochemical composition with potential medicinal and nutritional benefits. This literature review presents a comprehensive exploration of the interplay between computational analysis, predictive modeling, and the phytochemical richness of Moringa oleifera, aiming to elucidate its applications in medicine and nutrition. The phytochemical composition of Moringa oleifera, comprising flavonoids, phenolic compounds, vitamins, minerals, and other bioactive constituents, forms the foundation of this investigation. Computational methods, including molecular docking, quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modeling, and chemoinformatics, are scrutinized for their role in characterizing and predicting the bioactivity of Moringa oleifera phytochemicals. Predictive modeling techniques, encompassing machine learning algorithms and regression analysis, are evaluated for their utility in forecasting the bioactivity, toxicity, and nutritional properties of these phytochemicals. Through this synergy of computational approaches, researchers gain insights into the potential medicinal and nutritional applications of Moringa oleifera phytochemicals. The review underscores the significance of structure-activity relationships and data-driven insights in designing targeted interventions. It also highlights the promising prospects for drug development, functional foods, and dietary supplements derived from Moringa oleifera. While progress has been made, opportunities remain to address research gaps, refine predictive models, and translate findings into practical applications that promote human health and nutrition. This literature review provides a foundational understanding of the transformative potential of computational analysis and predictive modeling in harnessing the phytochemical wealth of Moringa oleifera, opening new avenues for interdisciplinary research in the pursuit of medicinal and nutritional advancements.
