A tanulmány azt vizsgálja az irodalmi cross-mapping komparatív módszere segítségével, hogy milyen hasonlóságok és különbségek mutatkoznak a vajdasági minoritások irodalmi terei és a berlini, párizsi vagy amerikai orosz emigráns diaszpórák regényalakzatai között Tolnai Ottó és Vladimir Nabokov műveiben, és mi a szerepük ezeknek az alakzatoknak a két szerző esztétikai rendszereiben. Részletesen elemzi a vizuális percepció metaforáit és a szerzői maszkok szerepét a transznacionális imagináció folyamataiban.
