Homage to Horace

Abstract This book combines one of the most famous names in Latin literature, the Roman poet Horace, with the crème de la crème of contemporary international classical scholarship. The seventeen brand new pieces have been brought together to celebrate the bimillenary of the poet's death, and range from detailed treatments of particular poems to general issues about Horace's literary techniques, themes, biography, and reception in later times. An introduction sets the book in the context of contemporary scholarship on the poet.
