METHODOLOGY FOR DESIGNING INTERMODAL TERMINALS IN TRANSPORT SYSTEMS BASED ON RISK ASSESSMENT

View through CrossRef
The tasks associated with the rational use of different modes of transport and their interaction during transshipment operations in intermodal terminals are becoming increasingly relevant. The purpose of this study is to analyse a comprehensive methodology for designing intermodal terminals, which provides an assessment of the effectiveness of the proposed design solutions. The article provides a general characteristic of unimodal, bimodal, intermodal and multimodal modes of transportation, their differences are presented; the features of the functioning of intermodal terminals, their importance for the performance of logistical tasks and the impact on the combination of various modes of transport in the process of cargo transportation are investigated. This work presents individual categories of costs associated with terminal management, its administrative functions and the provision of various services. However, in order to make an informed decision on the construction of a terminal, it is necessary to take into account a much wider list of costs that were not considered in detail in this study. The proposed methodology for creating intermodal terminals in transport systems allows you to evaluate design solutions, taking into account the features of the transport units being processed. The research is based on the analysis of the order of electronic interaction between seaports and railways in the process of intermodal cargo transportation. As a scientific novelty, a new approach to the development of a comprehensive methodology for designing intermodal terminals is presented, which covers the design of both technological processes and infrastructure facilities based on risks. Results. One of the key aspects of the sustainable development of the transport system is the forecasting of transportation demand. There are many approaches to transportation planning. The computational efficiency required for route selection decreases sharply with an increase in the number of transport modes and terminals. Warehouse and loading and unloading areas in an intermodal terminal perform a dual role, providing both storage and sorting of intermodal transport units. Designing intermodal terminals based on risk assessment is a complex task that combines technical and economic aspects. Practical significance. The results obtained can be used in the transport and forwarding service of intermodal cargo transportation, which allows its use in intelligent systems to support optimal decision-making by operational personnel. The method provides effective management of transport processes in conditions of uncertainty and risks in the computer network of the information environment of the ACS of the UZ-E enterprise, integrating into a set of tasks at automated workplaces of cargo intermodal terminals.
Title: METHODOLOGY FOR DESIGNING INTERMODAL TERMINALS IN TRANSPORT SYSTEMS BASED ON RISK ASSESSMENT
