View through CrossRef
Seven bee species (Hymenoptera: Apiformes) are documented from Canada for the first time, and their known natural history, distributional range and floral associations are discussed. The new species records for Canada are Andrena (Callandrena) krigiana Robertson, 1901 (Andrenidae); Andrena (Trachandrena) nuda Robertson, 1891; Andrena (Iomelissa) violae Robertson, 1891; Protandrena (Pterosarus) labrosa (Robertson, 1895) (Andrenidae); Protandrena (Pterosarus) compositarum Robertson, 1893; Sphecodes (Sphecodium) antennariae Robertson, 1891 (Halictidae); and Megachile (Sayapis) inimica Cresson, 1872 (Megachilidae). All records were from tallgrass prairie and oak savanna habitats in southern Ontario.
