Mayor Nikolaus of Hamburg and his wife Margreth certify that they received 100 Rheinische Gulden gemeDer ner landlaDer ffiger by the Augustinians in Heidelberg with the date of the certificate bar. For this purpose, they have to pay an annual interest of 4 guilders [5 guilders are mentioned in the further text once!]. As security, the spouses use their house with the entire Hofreite and the garden in the Heidelberg suburb in Sandgasse. This borders on the houses of Nikolaus Taschenmacher and Lorenz Lechler (Lorentzentzen [!] lechler), the court builder. The following interest rates lie on the house: 5 Heller vff die stegen für den Kurfürsten, 9 Pfennig and two Kapaune for the nuns of the Neuburg monastery and 11 ½ Pfennige for the nuns of the Lobenfeld monastery. Moreover, if there are other interest charges that are not known at the moment, they will be replaced by Nikolaus of Hamburg, Augustinian. Should the spouses or their heirs remain guilty of the annual interest, they will receive a period of six weeks and one day to compensate for the default. If the amount due has not been received, the monastery enters into its rights and may use the house until the missing amount is balanced. Therefore, the spouses and their heirs undertake to keep the house in good condition so that it does not experience any impairment and can always serve as a sufficient pawn. The repayment of the loan is arranged. Once the total sum, including the annual interest (possibly outstanding), has been paid to the Augustinians, the present document loses its validity with its provisions, the house falls back to Hamburg or its heirs and the monastery no longer has any claims and demands in this matter. Announcement of the city seal, which was attached by the mayor Hans Nofels at the request of the parties, without any demands on the city.
