Themes such as the beginning of the universe, the driving forces of the world and the existence of the sentient beings, creation through opposing pairs, but also others such as nature and its pollution, consumerism and technology, run through Peter's work. The pre-Socratic philosophers, but also Hesiod and Pythagoras, come as distant ancestors to fertilize his problematic. Thus the fire and continuous flow (Ta πάντα rei) of Heraclitus or the supreme Spirit of Anaxagoras as the causes of the beginning of the world give Peter's work - through fragmentary forms of the vegetable, animal or organic world that are interwoven and mutated, through Prussian blues, cobalt blues, greens, cadmium reds, zinc whites - all the above-mentioned problematics. Many saw in Peter's work the presence of Matta, Lam, Brauner or Sutherland. Without his work ignoring them, he has a character peculiarly visionary that is lacking in them, while his lyrical Orphism, which many also detected, has the same visionary aspect and hides the same agony of existential questions that stamps his entire output.
