JADIDISM AND MODERN APPROACHES TO JADID LITERATURE

In article, an attempt was made to carefully examine contemporary methodological approaches applied to the study of Jadid literature within the framework of literary science in post-independence Uzbekistan. The distinctive features of this new academic perspective that distinguished it from the ideological constraints prevalent in the Soviet period have been extensively explored. By moving beyond previously imposed dogmas, this new academic perspective allows for a more nuanced and objective analysis of the Cedid literary production. The article explores the emergence of a renewed scientific mindset and a growing intellectual pluralism, and highlights the evolving principles that guide the reassessment of the literary heritage. This intellectual shift highlights a commitment to critical inquiry and a move away from politicized interpretations. Through a comprehensive review of relevant articles, influential popular monographs, and major academic works, the article effectively explains the socio-political background of the period and offers insightful insights into the lives, struggles, and profound creative legacies of key Cedid literary figures. It also opens the door to a comprehensive discussion of the fundamental essence of the Cedid movement, explaining its main goals and the various stages of its development (from the early educational reforms to more overt political goals). The study also provides basic biographical and professional information on leading Cedid writers and literary scholars. Thus, the understanding of their individual contributions has been made clear. This scholarly work not only contributes significantly to a broader and more accurate understanding of the literary output of the Cedid movement, but also proactively addresses new academic frameworks in the field of literary criticism, such as “Cedid literature” and “Uzbek literature in the period of national awakening.” Undoubtedly, such reframing is crucial for a correct historical account of Uzbek literary development. In this context, the results of the study provide a methodological basis for contemporary Central Asian literary studies, shedding light not only on the scientific analysis of Cedid literature, but also on the process of reconstructing literary identity in the postmodern era.
