Rachana – Kriya Study of Vrikka and Mutravaha Srotas

Ayurveda employs the concepts of Rachana Sharir and Kriya Sharir to elucidate the body’s structure and functionality. Two of the most prominent organs mentioned in classical texts are Vrikka and Mutravaha Srotas. They assist the body stay hydrated and get rid of waste from metabolism. Vrikka are important organs that assist make and manage Mutra. Mutravaha Srotas, on the other hand, are in charge of moving, storing, and getting rid of urine. This system is great for keeping the body in balance, but when it doesn’t, it can cause a lot of difficulties with the urinary and systemic systems. Some of the classical texts that contain a lot of information about the origin, structure, function, and pathological involvement of Vrikka and Mutravaha Srotas are the Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, Ashtanga Hridaya, and Ashtanga Sangraha. This conceptual review aims to look at these descriptions from both an anatomical and physiological point of view and find connections that will help us better understand how to treat them.
