Inscription: Circular - Latin - Rex hoc Rodulfus - patrum pro lege peremptus Plorandus. merito. conditur. in. tumulo - Rex illi similis. si. raining. Temporary pacis Consilio. gladio - non fuit a Karolo - Qua vicere sui ruit hic sacra. victima. Belli - Mors. sibi vita fuit. ecclesiae. King Rudolf, who died for the law of the fathers, complaining according to his merit, is allowed in this grave. As king he was, if he had ruled in times of peace, no one since Karl had similar spirit and struggle. Whilst His was victorious, he fell here - death was in life - as a holy victim of war for the Church. - K. Bauch 1976, p.11
