Embroidery

Embroidery on a linen with a silk and a very one metal wire. The subject is a coat of arms with a stork holding a globe in one clone. Above the stork the helmet of a knight armour (with plumes) and at the sides tied “curtains.” The shape of the embroidery follows the outer edge of the motif.
The colours are (on the back) grey toned blue, light blue, light red (cut),
light yellow, bluetonate green, beige, brown, black.
Catalogued in Knut Adrian Andersson’s catalogue I: 25: 13 (see D2A: 1 in the museum’s archive) as: “Storckenfeldt’s weapons, embroidery, 1700s”
According to cataloguing in the 1950s bestowed on the museum in 1870.
According to Knut Adrian Andersson’s catalog 3/4 1880. Since t o m a date exists in 1880, it is likely that that year applies.
Very pale. White spots on the back. The metal wire along the edges is rusty. Incidentally in good condition.
