Hubungan Perceived Social Support dengan Kecemasan pada Korban Dating Violence
View through CrossRef
Abstract. Dating violence is a significant issue in Indonesia, ranking as the third highest case reported to KOMNAS Perempuan. Psychological violence in dating relationships severely impacts mental health, especially anxiety which can disrupt daily life. This study aims to examine the relationship between perceived social support and anxiety among victims of dating violence. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. A total of 109 respondents, aged 18-24 years, who have experienced or are currently experiencing psychological violence, were recruited using the snowball sampling technique. Data were collected using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MPSS) and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A). The Spearman Rank correlation test was used for data analysis. The findings revealed that most respondents had high levels of perceived social support (96.3%) and anxiety (99.1%). However, the correlation between perceived social support and anxiety was very weak and statistically insignificant, both for victims currently experiencing violence (r=0.165; p=0.167) and those who had experienced it (r=0.095; p=0.575). These results indicate that high perceived social support may not always align with victims’ emotional needs, especially when the stressor persists. This study underscores the importance of tailored support to reduce anxiety in victims of dating violence.
