Regenerasi Alami Tegakan Fagaceae di Hutan Lindung Rainforest Lodges Kedah Kabupaten Gayo Lues

Fagaceae is a family of flowering plants that includes woody trees and shrubs. Research on the natural regeneration of Fagaceae stands in the Rainforest Lodges Kedah protected forest is necessary to identify Fagaceae species and analyze the processes of their natural regeneration within the forest. The analysis of Fagaceae stand species was conducted using a multiple-plot sampling method, with an intensity of sampling (IS) of 8%. Consequently, for a 5-hectare area, 20 sample plots (SP) were established. The plot sizes for tree vegetation were 20 x 20 meters, poles 10 x 10 meters, seedlings 5 x 5 meters, and saplings 2 x 2 meters. To analyze the regeneration of each Fagaceae species, a population age pyramid was constructed based on growth stages: seedling, sapling, pole, and mature tree. The study in the Rainforest Lodges Kedah protected forest identified three Fagaceae species: Castanopsis tungurrut (geseng tanduk) with 19 individuals, Lithocarpus elegans (geseng kekabu) with 5 individuals, and Castanopsis acuminatissima (geseng tanduk) with 37 individuals. Based on the analysis, the natural regeneration of Fagaceae species—Castanopsis tungurrut, Castanopsis acuminatissima, and Lithocarpus elegans—in the Rainforest Lodges Kedah protected forest is experiencing disturbances.
