Early works of Vera Muromtseva-Bunina: Genre genesis and poetics

The article examines works by Vera Muromtseva-Bunina written in 1927-1930. For the first time, the poetics of the memoirist writer is studied, and the question of the genesis of her work is raised. The poetics of the first essays created in the late 1920s, as well as the first chapters of the large memoir book, are considered. The author proves that Muromtseva-Bunina's memoir essays grow from two written (non-fiction) genres - a newspaper obituary and an extended diary entry, and the memoir book from diary entries and the philosopheme of Memory, which was relevant for Ivan Bunin while working on the novel The Life of Arsenyev. Intertextual connections between individual essays are revealed; the poetics of the essays can be traced in dynamics. The author declares no conflicts of interests.
