NEW POETIC TRENDS IN CONTEMPORARY IRAQI-TURKMEN LITERATURE

Despite its deep-rooted past, rich historical and cultural heritage left in the
country, customs and traditions that still survive today, folklore and folk music, the Turkmen
community that has existed in Iraq for centuries is consciously or unconsciously ignored, and
attempts are made to ignore its existence. The Turkmens, who have been living under severe
oppression in Iraq for years, have preserved their national identity, language and culture
despite the genocide, assimilation and adverse conditions they have been subjected to. The
Turkmens have continued their struggle to obtain their rights to this day. The Turkmens who
have not rebelled against the state to this day have not taken up arms or rebelled against the
government, but on the contrary, have had a democratic, peace-loving, civil, urban culture and
have always been loyal to the state. The Turkmens, who play an important role in the
development and rise of Iraq, constitute the third main component of the country in terms of
population potential. The Turkmen, whose only desire is to live humanely in their own land,
are struggling to survive and continue their national existence amidst two separate threats
from the north and the south. The Turkmen community, which supports the territorial
integrity of Iraq, is a pluralist parliamentarian, respects human rights, and desires to achieve
its political, administrative, and cultural rights. The Turkmen community, deprived of all
kinds of political, social, cultural, economic, and diplomatic support, has unfortunately been
subjected to unjust oppression and oppression by the Iraqi leadership. In the north of the
country, which is called the Security Zone, the Turkmen have faced treatment no different
from that of the Baghdad leadership
