ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE TO CADMIUM AND ITS IMPACT ON THE HUMAN CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM

Cadmium is a toxic metal that is widespread in the environment due to industrial emissions, smoking and soil pollution. Cadmium is one of the trace elements that are constantly present in humans and animal body in minimal amounts, but its biological role remains unclear. Under unfavorable environmental conditions, the highest concentration of cadmium accumulates in the cortical substance of the kidneys (the "critical organ") and liver, to a lesser extent in muscles, tubular bones and other organs. Its effect of humans body, especially on the cardiovascular system, is of serious concern to the medical community. The purpose of this review article is to study the effects of cadmium on the cardiovascular system. The main directions include studying the mechanisms of cadmium's toxic effect on blood vessels and the heart, as well as assessing the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases with chronic exposure to this metal. The article has an important scientific and practical basis, as the results of the study help to understand the mechanisms of cadmium toxicity and develop preventive measures to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases associated with exposure to this metal. The study showed that chronic exposure to cadmium leads to significant changes in the structure and functions of the cardiovascular system, including high blood pressure, impaired endothelial function and the development of atherosclerosis. The identified mechanisms include oxidative stress, inflammation, and impaired calcium homeostasis. This study makes a significant contribution to understanding the toxic effects of cadmium on the cardiovascular system. The results of the work can be used in the development of recommendations for reducing the effects of cadmium on the population, as well as in medical practice for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases associated with toxic effects of metals. The normal level of cadmium in urine does not exceed 0.05 mg/l, and its content in normal blood can increase with age and range from 2 to 20 micrograms/l.

Title: ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE TO CADMIUM AND ITS IMPACT ON THE HUMAN CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM
Description:
The normal level of cadmium in urine does not exceed 0.
05 mg/l, and its content in normal blood can increase with age and range from 2 to 20 micrograms/l.
