St George with Christ who appears in a stylised sky and blesses the saints. St George is rendered as the Byzantine iconographical type known as the 'Diasorites', astride his white steed, fully armed and imperious, crossing a river or a lake full of fish. Riding pillion behind him is the tiny figure of George of Mytilene, carrying a jug in his left hand and a towel over his shoulder.
