Parlaghy, Wilma von: Porträt Auguste Bötzow

A knee piece of an elderly lady sitting on a wooden chair with a high backrest, front, the arms lying on the backrests, a cross on the chest. In the right, a Lorgnon rests, which is secured with a chain around his neck. The depicted are Auguste Bötzow, born. Heller (1814-1905), the then 80-year-old widow of the Berlin landowner, Wröhherrn and city councilor Julius (I) Bötzow (1811-1873) from the well-known Berlin citizen and landowner family. Both of the older son Julius (II) Bötzow (1839-1914) was the founder of Bötzow’s largest private beer brewery in Berlin. Both daughter Elise (born 1838) was married to the Berlin councilor Ferdinand Ahrends (1815-1869), whose daughter Elise Ahrends in turn with Berlin banker Theodor Fuhrmann (1848-1921).
