This study aims to obtain an overview of (1) the involvement of the Nagari Mandeh community in the development of tourism in the Mandeh area, (2) the formation of community groups in the development of tourism in the Mandeh area, (3) the development of Nagari Mandeh community groups which currently under the development of Mandeh area.This type of research is qualitative research. The location of the study was in Nagari Mandeh, Koto XI Tarusan District, South Coastal District. The research subjects were taken through Purposive Sampling techniques so that 18 informants were obtained. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.The study found: (1) the development of tourism in the Mandeh area involved all levels of society, (2) the dissemination of information from the local government and tourism agencies in developing the Mandeh tourism area to the cummunity form tourism awareness groups, (3) the development of community in tourism management is still running unproperly
