<b>Romanian Abstract:</b> Acest articol se constituie într-o succintă prezentare a activităţilor Centrului de studii de drept european (CSDE) al Institutului de Cercetări Juridice "Acad. Andrei Rădulescu" din cadrul Academiei Române. Este evidenţiată personalitatea Preşedintelui Academiei Romaniei (2006-2014), Acad. Ionel Haiduc, care a avut o contribuţie importantă la constituirea centrului.
<b>English Abstract:</b> That paper aims at briefly presenting the activities carried out by the Center for European Legal Studies (CELS) of the Institute for Legal Research "Acad. Andrei Rădulescu" of the Romanian Academy. The personality of Mr Ionel Haiduc, which was the President of the Romanian Academy (2006-2014), and that has had a significant contribution at the setting up of the Center is highlighted.
