Luck Egalitarianism and the Deservingness of Sheer Luck Caused Wealth Inequalities: a Brief Practical-centric Discussion on Luck Egalitarianism

Combining literature understanding, intuitive analogy and mathematical modelling, it is not necessarily difficult to discover the unnatural nature of luck egalitarianism in the practical world. Luck as an objective presence in the world, is the most important factor determining one’s success or wealth if not the most important one. Moreover, in the discussion of deservingness of success from sheer luck, taking the definition of having good moral reasons to receive, there exists an issue of perspective in whether such amounts to sheer luck or simple logic. Its unintuitive nature also proves to be a hindrance in understanding the deservingness. Hence, there remains likely certain difficulties to a various degree, that luck egalitarianism is realistically practicable. Yet the ultimate goal of seeking for distributive justice and equality, shall not be forgotten of its importance in constructing a just society.
