ENDODONTIA REGENERATIVA: UMA OPÇÃO PARA NECROSE PULPAR

View through CrossRef
Regenerative endodontics is an innovative and emerging dental method. Endodontic treatment of immature permanent teeth with pulp necrosis or apical periodontitis is a major clinical challenge. The technique aims to regenerate the pulp-dentin complex using stem cells and growth factors, and is recommended as a replacement for traditional apexification. Thus, the objective of the present study was to explore regenerative endodontics as an alternative for the treatment of immature permanent teeth with pulp necrosis. The research was carried out through an integrative review of the literature in electronic databases such as PubMed, LILACS and SciELO, covering articles published between 2014 and 2024. The work discusses the evolution of the concept, clinical protocols and the effectiveness of regeneration in continuous root development. The technique involves irrigation, intracanal medication and induction of bleeding in the root canal to promote tissue regeneration. The results indicate that regenerative endodontics offers advantages in the treatment of teeth with incomplete root formation, promoting vitality and preserving the biological function of the tooth. However, challenges such as the elimination of infections and standardization of protocols remain. The study concludes that, despite the limitations, regenerative endodontics is promising for restoring tooth vitality and improving the longevity of endodontic treatments.
