POR QUE ESCREVER UM LIVRO DE RECEITAS? ESOTERISMO E PRIVACIDADE NAS RECEITAS DE CATERINA SFORZA (TERRITÓRIOS ITÁLICOS, SÉCULO XV)

It is well known that, throughout her life, Caterina Sforza (1463-1509) devoted herself to compiling and developing alchemical and medicinal recipes, which were collected in Experimenti. But what was the purpose of writing a book of this nature? Is it possible to make a connection between these experiments, the private life of the person who wrote them, and the magical-esoteric context of the period? In this article, we analyze the recipes in the character's manuscript in order to answer these questions. To do so, we start with Sforza's trajectory, the context in which she lived, and aspects of her private life. This is an effort to shed light on magical-esoteric practices from the perspective of privacy in an attempt to generate new reflections on the involvement of subjects from the past with them. As a result, we were able to demonstrate how this production was linked to Caterina's life as a woman, mother, wife, ruler, and individual.
