Industrial Spatial Synergy Development in Hengqin and Macao

AbstractThis chapter describes the close connection between the industrial changes and urban development in Macao and Hengqin. The current land use and industrial distribution status in both places are analysed. The development direction, central trend and density of residential and various industries are analysed in GIS. The industrial structures of both Macao and Hengqin serve urban functions. The industrial density in Macao is higher than that in Hengqin, and the balance of employment and residence in the spatial dimension between the two places is insufficient. In the future, Hengqin will improve the city’s supporting infrastructure and strengthen the effectiveness of synergistic industrial development.
