REMOÇÃO DE TORUS MANDIBULAR:CASO CLÍNICO

Resumo A palavra toro tem sua origem no latim tórus e significa tumor ou protuberância circular não patológica de osso cortical e apresenta uma maior prevalência no sexo feminino podendo variar de acordo com a etnia, na maioria dos casos o torus é assintomático e eventualmente pode ocorrer um traumatismo secundário, sendo indicado assim a sua remoção cirúrgica . O objetivo do presente trabalho é relatar um caso clínico da remoção de um torus mandibular com indicação precípua de excisão total devido ao trauma na fibromucosa que recobria a exostose. Após o ato cirúrgico pode-se notar a remoção completa do mesmo. Abstrat The word torus has its origin in the latin, and means tumor or non-pathological circular protuberance of cortical bone, presents a greater prevalence in the feminine sex and can vary according to the ethnic group, in the majority of cases the torus is asymptomatic, secondary trauma eventually occurs and thus its surgical removal is indicated. The aim of the present study is to report a clinical case of the removal of a mandibular torus with a primary indication of total excision of the torus caused by traumas in that tissue that cover the 1 exostosis. After the surgical act, it can be noticed the completely removal of the same.
