How Xiaomi Auto Builds an Independent Brand Identity withinb the Xiaomi Group System

<p><span>This study examines how </span><span>Xiaomi Auto</span><span>&nbsp;constructs an independent brand identity within the Xiaomi Group ecosystem. Within 22 months of launch, </span><span>Xiaomi Auto</span><span>&nbsp;delivered 411,082 new cars in 2025 and has </span><span>reached RMB 106.1 billion</span><span>&nbsp;for the first time in 2025. However, this rapid success has been accompanied by a severe brand identity crisis: fundamental conflicts between inherited "Value-for-money" DNA from Xiaomi Group and aspired "premium intelligent EV" positioning.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>The March 2025 Anhui accident triggered a 12x surge in '</span><span>Xiaomi Auto</span><span>&nbsp;accident' search queries and a 0.7 correlation coefficient between negative news cycles and stock price decline. This event exemplifies the 'Speed-Credibility Trade-off' in the </span><span>CBAT Model</span><span>.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>Utilizing PESTEL, Porter's Five Forces, SWOT, and STP frameworks, combined with Aaker's Brand Identity System and Kapferer's Identity Prism, this study reveals three critical findings: (1) structural identity tension across price anchoring, safety trust, user image, and founder dependence; (2) STP fragility—precise targe</span><span>ing of "New Elite" creates high conversion but conflicts with safety credibility; (3) endorsed brand dilemma—ecosystem synergies constrain brand independence.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>The study contributes the Cross-Border Brand Architecture Tension (CBAT) Model, proposing a three-phase solution: strategic identity reconstruction (Speed→Safety), tactical stakeholder management (founder dependence reduction), an</span><span>d operational capability building</span><span>.</span><span></span></p>
