Egyptian Pomegranate Ethanol Extracts: Antitumor activity
View through CrossRef
Pomegranate peeling has been proven to have biological and antioxidant properties. Pomegranate peels contain special Phyto-chemical components that are responsible for these health benefits. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the antioxidant and tumor curative properties of pomegranate peels. MTT assay was used for antitumor evaluation. The biological and antioxidants composition and concentrations of pomegranate fruits and their peels, and consequently their health consequences, are greatly influenced by variants in pomegranate cultivar, geographic location, and extraction techniques.
Results of evaluation of antioxidants using DPPH Radical Scavenging Efficiency revealed that antioxidant activity of Egyptian pomegranate ethanol extract.
was 40.327. From recent results; 10 µg/ml was the highest viability of normal L929 cell line for mushroom concentration; and 1000 µg/ml was the lowest viability cells for mushroom concentration. While the cell viability of HT-29 colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line; indicates that the lowest cell line viability was at 1000 µg/ml.
