Puff pants from two-piece suit of Mathilde Willink

Puff trousers of two-piece dance costume, with red and turquoise satin printed with depiction of Chinese figures. The trousers fall wide from a tight waist to the banding of the legs.\The suit was worn by Mathilde Willink. Mathilde wore it during tap lessons from Jack Bow.\In 1971, the Chinese-Dutch fashion designer Carla Maria Fong Leng Tsang (1937) opened the doors of 'studio Fong Leng' in P.C. Hooftstraat in Amsterdam, where colorful and extravagant clothing was sold. Her creations were usually of silk with Chinese motifs on it. Her most famous customer was Mathilde Willink. With her unusual outfits Mathilde was a well-known and striking figure on the streets of Amsterdam in the 1970s.
