In 1967 Erik registered his own firm, “The Dwarnings Wooden Industry.” He made wooden plugs that were sold to various paper mills. The wooden plug was brought in at the ends of the rolls of newsprint to prevent them from sinking and becoming irregular at the time of storage. The production of the plug was run by Erik alone in a workshop with a lathe and a pillar drill furnished in the former barn. Erik held up the plug making until 1976. This picture, taken in April 1968, shows Erik working at the lathe.
