Transformation of Habitus in the Character Eren Yeager in the Anime Attack on Titan By Hajime Isayama (Pierre Bourdieu's Perspective)

This study aims to describe the transformation of habitus in the character Eren Yeager in the anime Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama, using Pierre Bourdieu's critical discourse analysis approach. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, which aims to describe, explain, and interpret a phenomenon in depth based on the facts found in the field. The data collection technique used in this study is the listening and note-taking technique, which is the process of carefully listening to the data and then recording it for analysis. The research results indicate three main focuses: Eren's initial naive habitus and strong desire for freedom, the trigger for transformation being the painful experiences and injustices he endured, and the new habitus characterized by his cold demeanor and extreme thinking. This research shows that Eren Yeager's habitus transformation did not happen suddenly, but was shaped by social conditions and power structures. Therefore, Eren Yeager's habitus transformation is the result of social pressure and life experiences that shaped his way of thinking and acting.
