Stability Analysis and Disposal Measures for Goafs in Yangla Copper Mine Based on Whole‐Area Concept
View through CrossRef
Goaf stability is a prominent research topic in open stope mining in underground mines. This research topic is crucial for improving mine production safety and long‐term goaf stability. In this study, the stability of goafs in Linong mine were analyzed from a whole‐region perspective. Mathews stability method was used to verify the goaf stability results through a three‐dimensional (3D) numerical simulation, and the physical and mechanical parameters of the backfill body were determined. The results showed that about half of the goafs enter an unstable and empty state when left untreated. The large stope structural parameters of the ore body indicated high safety risks in the goafs after ore body mining. However, filling can improve the goafs’ stability and safety, being an effective measure for controlling underground goafs. We recommend filling the goafs with gypsum in a ratio of 1:8. These results provide practical guidance for safe follow‐up mining and a useful reference for evaluating the safety of goaf stability in similar mines.
